Wireless Internet Installer

We are a growing WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider) seeking a tech savvy individual. The Wireless Internet Installer position entails numerous technical and manual labor tasks.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install/Maintain wireless Internet equipment and network systems.
  • Mount Internet equipment and relay data cables to each device.
  • Wireless / Networking Equipment preparation and configuration.
  • Install battery backups and grounding systems for equipment.
  • Database and documentation updates.
  • Follow training protocols and safety briefings.
  • Perform on site analysis and determine potential for new tower site locations and repeaters.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Proficient with Ethernet Network Cabling
  • Proficient Troubleshooting Skills
  • Confident Understanding of TCP/IP and working with Routers and Switches
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must demonstrate personal accountability in prioritization.
  • Must be able to handle multiple interruptions and adjustments to priorities.

Tower Climber

We are a growing WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider) seeking a tower climber. The Tower Climber position demands highly-skilled maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting skills while on towers reaching 200’+.


 

Position Description:

Climb tower heights of 100′-200’+ for installation of wireless internet equipment. Climber performs highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with LTE and WiFi tower systems and equipment. Work involves technical application of electrical principles.

Primary Position Contributions:

1) Required to climb heights of up to 200’+

2) Install connectors, perform cable runs, and install antennas and equipment

3) Ensure accuracy and quality of all jobs

4) Perform antenna swaps and alignments

5) Perform a variety of tests including: a) Fusion splicing: connecting two fibers together create a seamless light path b) OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) Testing: used to test the integrity of fiber optic cables, verify splice loss, measure length and find faults c) Fiber Scoping: examining fiber optic bundles to ensure clean fibers are installed d) LTE and WiFi band Frequency sweep-testing: scanning a radio frequency for detecting signals being transmitted e) RF (Radio Frequency) testing: testing to expose any disturbances and fields with field strengths and frequency ranges f) PIM testing (Passive Inter-modulation): testing for network performance and speed

Physical Requirements/Safety:

Basic mechanical skills, know and understand OSHA guidelines as they pertain to the telecommunications industry, fall protection and personal protective equipment, ability to lift up to 70lbs, ability to work extended hours at heights of 100’+.

Prefer candidate to have:

Must be able to complete: Tower Climber Certification or equivalent, must have or be able to complete OSHA Construction 10 hour Safety Training program, must have or be able to complete First Aid and CPR certification. Seeking 1 years tower climber experience. Salary based on industry related skill and experience – PERMANENT POSITION – benefit package

Network Administrator

We are looking for a Network Administrator to design, oversee, maintain and manage execution for our corporate ISP network. Primary responsibilities will consist of overall design, redesign, documentation, configuring, implementing, and maintaining network devices, performing monitoring and troubleshooting functions, as well as providing health assessment, capacity and performance metrics to management.


 

Primary Duties :

  • Daily support of the Local, Wireless, and Wide Area Network including Mikrotik routers, and Ubiquiti routers and switches.
  • Implementation, and support of the network security infrastructure including VLANs, VPNs and all layers of network security
  • Management of all Site to Site network routing and network shaping policies
  • Integration planning and execution for business expansions through natural and acquired growth
  • Network capacity monitoring and planning
  • Hardware and software lifecycle and patch management of all network equipment
  • Proactive infrastructure support
  • Act to quickly resolve internal networking issues
  • Develop contingency plans to maintain the highest availability or resources
  • Work with internal products and third party vendors to resolve issues
  • 50-65% travel to other company sites and data centers around Virginia may be required
  • Train and mentor networking administrators

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience with the technology areas outlined below:

  • Strong knowledge of routing and switch to include DMVPN, HSRP, PBR, IPSEC and BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF routing protocols.
  • Experience in configuring and managing VPN, QoS, OTV, firewall policies, and VLANs.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewall and wireless controllers Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, and BSD/Linux
  • Advanced knowledge of MPLS networks technologies and their support and management operations.
  • Experience working with Cisco IOS 14 and 15
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networks, DNS, DHCP, FTP, VoIP, SIP
  • Knowledge of network and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, sFTP)
  • Experience and detailed technical knowledge in system and network security, authentication and security protocols, and cryptography.
  • Experience supporting a multi VLAN and complex DMZ environment.
  • Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities (Packet, Protocol, Bandwidth analyzing)
  • Flexibility to perform some work outside of normal business hours and on weekends
  • Expertise using Visio to produce detailed network documentation
